Used: Charcoal, kneadable eraser
Time: a couple of hours

For this I used a 'technique' (which one of the art staff at my school taught me) where you losely smudge charcoal evenly all over the paper, then with a kneadble eraser you draw the image on. So you pretty much work backwards and (extremely) freehand.

I cheated a bit tho...

anyway, the original picture didn't have an eye patch on it, however, as ~oborozuki knows, I stuffed it and drew an eyepatch.
